David Walliams is facing another blow to his career amid misconduct allegations.
The British comedian, author, and actor has faced some major allegations in the past year, leading to him being dropped by his book publisher HarperCollins and also his talent agency.
It was also reported last week that Walliams has been removed from an upcoming movie project.
Now, the theme park attraction at the UK’s Alton Towers is permanently shutting down its Walliams-themed attraction, which revolved around the characters from his books.
Walliams is the author of many children’s books, with more than 50 million copies sold worldwide.
Those books include Gangsta Granny, The Boy in the Dress, Billionaire Boy, Ratburger, and The Midnight Gang.
Alton Towers dedicated a whole section of the theme park to “The World of David Walliams,” with rides such as Gangsta Granny: The Ride, a 4D dark ride about a crown jewels heist.
A rep for the park told Deadline, “As the 2026 peak season at Alton Towers Resort comes to an end and following our regular review of rides and attractions across the resort, we have taken the decision to permanently close the World of David Walliams.”
What are the allegations against David Walliams?
David was dropped by his book publisher HarperCollins back in December 2025 amid allegations. Deadline reported back then that he was “the subject of an internal investigation… regarding his alleged behavior towards junior female HarperCollins employees.”
Fast forward to September 2026, HarperCollins also confirmed that they were no longer representing David‘s backlist of books and his talent agency YMU was no longer representing him.
Last year, David‘s spokesperson said, “David has never been informed of any allegations raised against him by HarperCollins. He was not party to any investigation or given any opportunity to answer questions. David strongly denies that he has behaved inappropriately and is taking legal advice.”
