Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell had undeniable chemistry in Anyone But You.
In fact, fans were convinced that Sydney was cheating on her then-fiance with Powell.
And apparently, that chemistry may still be causing problems.
Sydney is reportedly in no rush to reunite with Powell on screen, despite the success of their 2023 romantic comedy.
According to a source, her boyfriend, Scooter Braun, is uncomfortable with the close bond she developed with Powell while making the movie.
And Powell apparently isn’t giving up on the idea of working with Sweeney again.
“Glen is persistently and consistently pinging Sydney and her team about finding a different project they could both work on,” an insider tells The National Enquirer.
The pair previously decided against making a sequel to Anyone But You, with the source saying they believed sequels are “extremely difficult to pull off.”
Still, Powell reportedly remains interested in finding another project that would reunite him with his former co-star.
Sweeney, however, doesn’t appear to be quite as eager.
The insider claimed the actress has little interest in immediately signing on for another project with Powell, with Braun’s feelings allegedly playing a role in that decision.
The source described Sweeney and Powell’s Anyone But You connection as “insane chemistry” and claimed Braun is uncomfortable with the idea of that dynamic playing out again.
Of course, there’s no indication that Sweeney and Powell ever had a romantic relationship off-screen.
Their chemistry became one of the biggest selling points of Anyone But You, which went on to become a major box-office success.
For now, it appears fans may have to settle for watching the pair’s chemistry in the original movie.
Unless Powell gets his way, that is.
