Anna Nicole Smith‘s ex-boyfriend was arrested last week after witnesses called police in fear he was planning to drive while under the influence, RadarOnline.com can confirm.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, Mark Hatten was found drunk while sleeping behind the wheel of his car on June 15 at around 1 am.

“A third party contacted our law enforcement agency, giving information of a male that was intoxicated outside a parking lot and was fearful that the male was going to be driving home,” Captain Joey Crosby told Radar. “The incident is a violation of our city ordinance of public intoxication which in the state of South Carolina does not require an incident report.”

“Officers responded to the scene and as a result of what they observed, they ended up making an arrest on the male for public intoxication, which is a city municipal ordinance charge. He was transported here to our precinct immediately thereafter and released after a period of time.”

According to The Blast, who first reported the news, the 50-year-old had been partying at a Myrtle Beach gentleman’s club.

Hatten dated the tragic model in the early 2000’s.

In 2002, he served six years behind bars for threatening and stalking Smith.

Five years later, in 2007, Smith was discovered dead in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida from a drug overdose.
