Interview With Miami Artist Subbound Maniax

1. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me! Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you do currently…

I’m an artist out of a Hood called Brownsub in Miami, Fl. I make Pain music my sound gives you a different feel than most from what I’ve been told. I make music for my fallen bruddas I’ve lost to these streets due to gun violence.

2. What inspired you to start creating your own music?

Brazy story I had a friend who was already rapping and every time I jumped on the track with him he smoked me. Then one day I started taking rap serious that’s when I started smoking my friend on tracks. My music career is inspired by my fallen cousin Camoflauge he was from Savannah, GA and was killed a week after signing a major record deal. I was able to see the love the hood showed him which played a big part in why I make music today.

3. What has been your biggest achievement so far?

My biggest achievement so far is having my last project I released Maniax Musoc do over 200,000 streams. The amount of love I received was un real and motivating at the same time. I figure if this many people like my music I must be doing something right. 


4. What do you have planned for this year?

I’m set to release my new ALBUM titled SBM early December. This album took me a year to create its full of Pain music and a few features a lot of people been waiting on.

6. Take a moment to close your eyes. Where do ideally you see yourself in 5 year’s time?

I see myself becoming a top artist all while starting my own label and putting other artist in the same position I’m in.

7. Who or what is your greatest love?

My greatest love is Football I was actually a 3-star athlete until I got locked up and lost all my scholarships. My big homie use to always tell me you ha e to pick one either the streets or football. Me growing up the way I did I didn’t have that support system needed to push me. I still love to watch I have a lot of friends that plays on Sunday.

8. What book do you recommend most to others?

Any book created by this entrepreneur named Derrick Grace. His books open ya mind to a different frequency of thinking.

9. If you could get the perfect help from an online tax return service, what would they do for you?

I would allow them to add up all my expenses I’ve spent on my music career and figure a way to write it off. When youre independent you tend to pay a lot of out of pocket fees no matter if it’s just promotion or a feature.

10. Can you give our readers 2 key tips for staying creative?

Always think outside the box what makes people listen to me is the fact that I’m something new, I’ve always strived not to be like the masses.

11. Where is your happy place?

I’m the most happiest when I’m recording or writing music.

12. If you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring 3 things what would they be?

13. How do you describe yourself in 5 words?

I am a determined Subber.
