Jenna Ortega is opening up about her future acting roles.

While appearing on the new episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 24-year-old Emmy-nominated actress said that she plans on taking a break from TV roles when her Netflix series Wednesday comes to an end.

“I actually haven’t had a lot of franchise conversations. I haven’t,” Jenna explained. “But what I’m meant to do will come and find me. I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while. You know, I had many years doing that. I was bouncing from show to show as a kid, this to this, and I want to leave time for new things.”

Jenna stars as Wednesday Addams in the Tim Burton-directed Addams Family spinoff series at Netflix. Last month, the streaming service announced that production for season three had wrapped.

In the new interview, Jenna admitted she’s still “a little confused” by the show’s popularity, explaining that it “felt like some sick mind game” when she got recognized for her role.

Wednesday, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, premiered in 2022 and quickly became a record-breaking global phenomenon, with Season 1 claiming the #1 spot on Netflix’s list of most popular English shows of all time and spending 20 weeks on the Global Top 10. Season 2 was also a worldwide sensation, ranking #6 on the Global list.
