In her new tell all book, Jinger Duggar opens up about how she felt back in 2015 when brother Josh Duggar was publicly accused of molesting sisters Jessa and Jill as kids, and several other young girls! As it turns out, while Jinger could not believe her brother’s ‘sinful choices,’ she felt even more ‘shell-shocked’ by the crime becoming public knowledge!
This detailing of her reaction comes only days after Josh was arrested for possession of child pornography!
The memoir she co-wrote with her husband Jeremy Vuolo titled The Hope We Hold, features Jinger’s reacting to the scandal back in 2015 and how it affected her family!
Jinger admits that she was so ashamed she felt like hiding from the world.
However, the massive family knew about this for years before the scandal exploded, but chose to keep it under wraps. ‘My brain had not quite caught up to the reality of what had happened in just a few short hours. Earlier that same day, Dad had gathered my siblings and I to tell us the worst trial in our family’s history, a trial we had long since dealt with and had made our peace with, was now public knowledge,’ she writes.
The Duggar kids had been reality TV stars since the premiere of 19 Kids and Counting in 2008, but nothing had prepared them quite enough for so much public scrutiny.
Jinger admitted that she did not really know how to deal with her family being in the tabloids as much as it was. ‘I felt shell-shocked, as if a bomb had just exploded. I moved in a daze, living a nightmare I wished with all my heart was not real. One of my siblings had made a few sinful choices, but it had been years ago. It had been awful, but we’d dealt with it as a family. We had sought the Lord, we took the necessary steps to move towards healing, and we offered up our forgiveness. Now that it was so out in public, the old wound was open again, raw, painful.’
Ironically enough, only 5 days before Jinger’s book was published, Josh was arrested for CP possession so the wounds must be more open than ever at this point! Source
