Katherine Ryan is speaking out about Russell Brand‘s guilty verdict.
On Thursday (November 5), the comedic actor was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and one count of rape involving incidents that occurred between 1999 and 2009.
Katherine, a Canadian TV star and stand-up comedian, previously spoke of a “predator” in the industry she had worked with, and many believed she was speaking about the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star.
During a new episode of her podcast Telling Everybody Everything, Katherine addressed the news of Russell‘s verdict.

Katherine said she hadn’t been following the trial, but upon the recent verdict, her phone blew up with the news.
“It really made me feel just quite dysregulated again, caught off guard, emotional, in awe of the survivors who also had nothing to gain,” she said, praising them for coming forward despite Russell‘s “fame, power, money, and a legion of fans ready to attack them.”
She noted not every verdict was found guilty, meaning some people who came forward “did not get the justice that they came for,” so there is also “some sadness in that too.”
Katherine added that she would “never be someone who like, dances on graves. There has been some justice done today. There’s a level of relief, but there’s grief alongside relief. Everything’s nuanced. And it was provided in court that a terrible thing happened.”
She said she thinks about the “people who have been hurt” and have to “carry that,” will continue to “regardless of what justice is done.”

Katherine previously talked about a “predator” in the entertainment industry during an interview with Louis Theroux. At the time, she said she couldn’t name them, but claimed she had appeared on a TV show with him and called him a “predator” to “his face.”
It was rumored to be Russell she was referring to, specifically during her time on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018.
