Kristin Cavallari Announces That She And Jay Cutler Are Getting Divorced After Ten Years Together

Very Cavallari star Kristin Cavallari shocked her fans on Sunday when she announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Jay Cutler, have decided to divorce after seven years of marriage. Cavallari and Cutler have been together for nearly a decade and they share three children.

Cavallari posted a pic on Instagram on Sunday morning that featured her and Cutler with their arms around each other and their backs toward the camera as they walked away. In the lengthy caption, Cavallari wrote that the split was amicable, and was simply the result of two people growing apart.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” wrote the reality star. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of.”

She ended her caption by asking her fans to respect her and Cutler’s privacy as they navigate the difficult time in their family. Cavallari and Cutler share two sons and a daughter: Camden Jack, 7, Jaxon Wyatt, 5, and Saylor James, 4.

The Laguna Beach alum met the retired NFL quarterback back in 2010 during a Chicago Bears preseason game. After they welcomed their son Camden in 2012, the couple tied the knot in 2013. However, the couple had their share of ups and downs during their engagement, as he called it off in 2011 before they reconciled.

Earlier this month, Cavallari, Cutler, and their three kids returned to their Nashville home after getting stuck in The Bahamas due to the COVID-19 lockdown. For a few weeks, they were stuck on the island along with their close friends Justin Anderson and Austin Rhodes, and they documented their experience on social media.

After isolating in The Bahamas, the couple were finally able to make it back to Nashville when a “short window” opened up. The Uncommon James designer revealed on her Instagram Story that they “jumped all over” the chance to get home.

On March 23rd, the Prime Minister of the Bahamas closed all of the country’s airports and seaports to incoming international flights carrying visitors. At the time, the US Embassy urged US citizens to “leave as soon as possible.”
