Mariah Carey's Older Sister Alison Is Suing Her - Find Out Why

Mariah Carey is being sued by someone related to her – her sister!

People is reporting that Alison Carey, who is Mariah‘s older sister, is seeking damages from the singer over emotional distress.

Alison is claiming that Mariah intentionally inflicted “emotional distress” on her with the inclusion of several stories in her recently published memoir.

In court documents, Alison goes on to describe Mariah as “heartless, vicious [and] vindictive,” and even says the singer has fallen back into “alcohol abuse” and is now “uncharacteristically tearful”.

“[Carey] also callously dismisses [Alison] as her ‘ex’ sister,” the documents read. “But instead of saying no more about her, [Carey] used her book to humiliate and embarrass plaintiff as stories about the memoir appeared in newspapers around the world, on TV and across the Internet, most of them with headlines repeating defendant’s allegations — all of them published without giving [Alison] any opportunity to respond.”

The documents also claim that Alison was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and depression and is now in therapy as she copes with “the horrific abuse” inflicted on her as a child by their mother.

Alison continued that Mariah used her “status as a public figure to attack her penniless sister,” by generating “sensational” headlines about Alison to promote her book.

There was an offer sent to Mariah‘s attorneys, however, there’s been no response.

Alison is seeking “an amount no less than $1.25 million compensation for the intentional infliction of immense emotional distress caused by defendant’s heartless, vicious, vindictive, despicable and totally unnecessary public humiliation of defendant’s already profoundly damaged older sister.”

In her book, Mariah claimed that Alison tried to sell her to a pimp when she was just 12 years old.

Some years ago, Alison was also arrested on grounds of prostitution.
