► Meghan Markle and Prince Harry – the Duchess and Duke of Sussex – were met by hordes of people on a visit to Bristol.

Harry and Meghan did have to switch from their plane to the train because of the snow, and one woman in particular was very glad that they made the effort.

They visited Empire Fighting Chance, which supports children who are failing at school and in danger of drifting into a life of unemployment.

The expected parents also dropped in to One25, a charity that reaches out to women trapped in street sex work. The Duchess packed food parcels for the women, which included inspirational messages written on bananas.

Before that, the couple attended a performance of ‘Hercules’ at Bristol Old Vic.
