Oprah Winfrey's Magazine Will Stop Publishing in Print at the End of 2020

Oprah Winfrey‘s monthly magazine will soon stop printing.

O, The Oprah Magazine magazine will stop being published in print after its December 2020 issue, Business of Fashion reports.

A rep for Hearst Magazines then shared that the brand is not going away, but it will become “more digitally centric.”

“As the brand celebrates twenty years of O, The Oprah Magazine, we’re thinking about what’s next, but again the partnership and the brand are not going away,” the rep shared with THR. “This is a natural next step for the brand, which has grown to an online audience of 8 million, extending its voice and vision with video and social content. We will continue to invest in this platform as the brand grows and evolves into one that is more digitally centric.”

O published its first issue in April 19, 2000. As of 2020, the average paid circulation for the magazine was 2.2 million copies and a print audience of 10 million.

“I’m proud of this team and what we have delivered to our readers over the past 20 years,” Oprah said in a statement. “I look forward to the next step in our evolution.”

If you missed it, Oprah recently made a second huge donation to the pandemic relief efforts.
