Saoirse Kennedy’s Uncle RFK Jr. Pens Touching Tribute After Her Overdose Death

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. broke his silence on his beloved niece Saoirse‘s overdose death with a touching tribute, RadarOnline.com can report.

In an Instagram post, the late Robert F. Kennedy‘s son shared some of the fond memories family and friends had with late Saoirse, including her move into Boston College and fun trip to Cape Cod with her actress step-aunt, Cheryl Hines

“We’ve lost our daughter and our children, their sister,” he wrote. “Saoirse was fierce, both in her love for her family and yearning for justice. A fearless adventurer, she inspired curiosity and daring in her friends.”

He continued: “But her greatest gift was to find humor in everything and to give us all the gift of her laughter – and our own. The gaping hole that she leaves in our family is a wound too large to ever heal.”

As readers know, RFK’s granddaughter was found dead of an apparent overdose at the family’s Hyannis Port, Massachusetts compound on Thursday, August 1.

Responders were called, but by the time she was transferred to Cape Cod Hospital, she was pronounced dead.

Radar later reported an autopsy taken on Friday, August 2 showed there was “no trauma inconsistent with lifesaving measures.”

The cause of death will be determined by a toxicology report.

“Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse,” the Kennedy family said in a statement following the tragic news.  “Her life was filled with hope, promise and love.”
