Some Like It Hot is headed straight to Broadway in 2021!
Deadline reports that a musical version of the Billy Wilder movie – which starred Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe – is skipping its planned premiere in Chicago altogether for a Broadway debut in the fall.
The book was written by Matthew Lopez, with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and direction/choreography by Casey Nicholaw.
The Some Like It Hot movie centered on two musicians on the run from the mob, following them as they disguise themselves as members of an all-female band in order to avoid being rubbed out for witnessing a murder.
