Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart open up the 2018 VMAs with face tattoo jokes, a Fifth Harmony roast, and one HUGE name pronunciation fail.
Tiffany could NOT pronounce Camila Cabello’s name to save her life, and it was AWKWARD.
Tiffany and Kevin opened up the VMAs this year, and as you can imagine their jokes packed a PUNCH. First, Tiffany went after DJ Khaled. She joked that students who get in trouble for messing on their phones at school should tell their teachers that they wanna grow up to be DJ Khaled. It was pretty clear from the look on DJ Khaled’s face that he wasn’t too thrilled with that one.
Next, Kevin called out all the rappers who keep getting face tattoos, joking QUOTE, “Stop writing on your face. It’s stupid. You’re not gonna get a job if this sh*t don’t work out.”
Next, the pair went for the couples who’ve had quick engagements recently, which prompted Ariana Grande and fiance Pete Davidson to exchange looks.
You can tell they were expecting that, but lucky for them Tiffany and Kevin didn’t name names. Not that they needed to — right, Justin and Hailey?
Tiffany DID however attempt to name names when it came to talking about Camila Cabello and her 5 VMA nominations. The comedian absolutely butchered Camila’s name, and things got real awkward real quick.
And the awkwardness didn’t end there. Tiffany ended her comment with by absolutely shading Fifth Harmony.
To no one’s surprise, Tiffany was ripped apart by Harmonizers all over social media for that one.
One fan Tweeted QUOTE, “nah Tiffany Haddish is cancelled for that shade of fifth harmony” while another shared QUOTE, “Tiffany Haddish ain’t cute for that Fifth Harmony joke. Normani is gonna crack top 10 next week. If you gonna make a joke at least know what you’re talking about.”
Ever since Tiffany’s “Who Bit Beyonce?” story blew up, she’s been the queen of shocking and uncensored statements, so we have a feeling she was more than prepared for the backlash.
