People sure get attached to fictional TV characters. When writers do something unexpected like going and writing off beloved characters like Joyce Summers from Buffy or Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead, fans will be a bit shocked. But it’s not always the writer; sometimes actors ask for their character to die, like Mischa Barton on The OC. Even so, it doesn’t make the death any less jaw-dropping.
