Derek Hough is sharing an update on his health after he had to stay home from the Dancing With the Stars finale due to contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
The 36-year-old former pro and current judge appeared on the season finale on Monday night (November 22) via a virtual appearance.

“I’m feeling great, I definitely turned a corner,” Derek said. “I’m so sad I can’t be there with you all. Everything looks amazing. But yeah, I’m feeling good!”
Derek also sent a message to the pro dancers, commending them on the work they’ve put in this year.
He said, “It’s a huge responsibility to take on, you know, all the choreography, the time, the blood, sweat and tears. Y’all have been fantastic teachers, fantastic mentors to your celebrity partners. Congratulations to you all. And to all the finalists, strong and calm. Strong in the mind, strong in the body. You got this. Good luck!”
