Kanye West is about to expand his empire with the fashion brand, Gap. The 43-year-old rapper announced his Gap collaboration with a social media post on Friday. The rapper wrote on his account, “YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER.”
A news release from the company this Friday announced that Kanye West’s new clothing line would include items for men, women, and kids, at an affordable price. Although, it’s been reported that Kanye West won’t be selling his sneakers through Gap. His Adidas partnership will continue.
When Gap revealed the news, shares of the company increased by 42%. According to a report from The New York Times, Kanye West agreed to sign a 10-year deal with the company, in which he’ll receive royalties and also potential equity.
Coincidentally, Kanye West used to work at a Gap store when he was a teenager. During a chat with Vanity Fair back in 2015, he stated that he wanted to be the brand’s creative director.

This is just one big announcement that the rapper has had for his fans over the last few days. It was reported earlier today that the Ye artist had a new album coming out, although, Dr. Dre would be re-creating it instead.
More specifically, Kanye West said on his Twitter account that Dr. Dre would be releasing his own version of Jesus Is King, the rapper’s gospel album which broke records on the Billboard charts in a number of ways, including becoming the highest-selling gospel record in recent memory.
Fans of Kanye will remember when he first revealed that he’ll only be doing gospel music from now on. A source close to the performing artist said that Kanye was moving away from his roots in the rap community to the world of gospel music, which took many fans by surprise.
